GEORGE MOTZ, AMERICA’S HAMBURGER EXPERT, BRINGS
BURGER POP-UP WORLD TOUR TO THE CIA AT COPIA

Food Film Festival founder helps launch Cinema Under the Stars in Napa

Napa, CA – July 9, 2019 – The CIA at Copia, a culinary adventure for food lovers in downtown Napa, announces that hamburger expert George Motz will bring his Burger Pop-Up World Tour to Copia on Saturday, July 20, 2019, from 6-9 p.m. During this funfilled evening, Motz will make his signature griddled smash burgers, which will be served alongside strawberry shortcake and ice-cold beverages. After sunset, guests are invited to hang out in the gardens for a special film screening of the classic foodie film, Big Night, which will kick off Copia’s new weekly outdoor film series, Cinema Under the Stars.

Host of Burgerland on the Travel Channel—as well as an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, chef, and author of The Great American Hamburger and Hamburger America —George Motz is widely regarded as the nation’s foremost hamburger expert. He spent years perfecting his signature burgers, and his 2019 Burger Pop-Up World Tour has included stops in São Paolo, Miami, Buenos Aires, and Paris.

“George is an innovator in the culinary world and has garnered global attention for his exceptional burgers,” said Thomas Bensel, managing director of CIA California. “We appreciate his creativity and burger expertise and this summer burger pop-up is just a taste of what is to come between George Motz and the CIA.”

During the film screening, guests will be able to purchase popcorn and soft serve ice cream along with the regular staples such as pizzas, barbecue, and garden-inspired salads from Grove, Copia’s al fresco late night spot. Cinema Under the Stars will begin weekly on July 23 and take place every Tuesday evening at 8:30 pm through October 29. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and seat cushions. A full list of the upcoming films can be viewed here: www.ciaatcopia.com/cinema-under-the-stars.

Taste What You See on the Screen!
The Food Film Festival is the only event in the world where guests get to taste what they see on the screen—right in their seats! During the main part of the event, the festival screens food films and serves a taste of the exact dish seen to the audience. Now in its 13th year in New York City, the annual event also travels to cities like Chicago, Charleston, and Copenhagen. Created by TV host, filmmaker, and burger expert George Motz, the festival benefits local non-profit organizations, such as the Billion Oyster Project of NYC.
