COTTAR’S SAFARI SERVICES LTD CELEBRATES 100 YEARS
HONORING THE LEGACY OF THE AFRICAN SAFARI

Nairobi, Kenya – November 7, 2018 – In 2019, Cottar's Safari Services Ltd, the company behind Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp & Bush Villa, the award-winning luxury safari properties founded by the oldest established and continuing safari family in Africa, will be celebrating its 100th year as the first registered safari outfitter in Africa.

The luxury 1920s camp provides the romance of safari under cream canvas tents, returning to the style of the bygone era of the twenties while simultaneously supplying the amenities required by today’s modern world travelers, offering guests an abundance of wildlife, a guarantee of privacy, and the highest standards of professional guiding in a luxurious and authentic camping environment.

The Bush Villa is built in a contemporary design style, elegant and unforgettable – the only true luxury private villa in the Masai Mara, Kenya. The villa provides a luxurious exclusive stay option for up to 12 guests and comes complete with its own private 25-meter swimming pool. Cottar’s Bush Villa is managed within the same area as Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp, and guests can enjoy the same standards of service for which the camp is known.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, Cottar’s will be rolling out exciting new safari itineraries and experiences starting next year – including the all-new “Walk Back in Time” safari debuting in October 2019, where guests will be able to stay in all of the hot spots that the Cottar family has “found” over their 100 years in Kenya. The “Walk Back in Time” safari will begin in Tsavo East, continue on to Meru and then Lake Paradise in Marsabit, and end in the Masai Mara at the luxurious 1920s camp. To top off this amazing adventure, Cottar's new safari experience will be hosted by Gold Guide Calvin Cottar himself.

Guests staying at the 1920s Safari Camp & Bush Villa in 2019 will be in for a collection of special opportunities during their stay – from riding around the Masai Mara on E-bikes and watching old movies at Cottar’s new "Safari Drive In" to staying in a fully solar-powered Camp & Villa, Cottar’s is pulling out all the stops for their centenary year.

In addition to these new experiences, the luxury camp & villa will have top professionals from various related professions dropping in to discuss their fields of expertise. Guests will also have the opportunity to dabble in an array of experiences such as participating in the Masai Mara Martial Eagle Project and the Mara Predator Conservation Program, exploring the Masai Mara with professional photographer Nick Dale, participating in professional Gin and Whisky tasting classes, and more.

Located on its own 7,608-acre private conservancy – the Olderkesi Conservancy – just one kilometer from the famous seventh natural wonder of the world, the Masai Mara in Kenya, and the Tanzania Serengeti game reserve, Cottar’s 1920s Safari Camp & Bush Villa extends an era of vintage luxury and quality into the modern world while returning to the original spirit and essence of “safari.”

Join the Cottar family as they create a year of celebration honoring the legacy of the African safari.
